Who’s responsible for your data

The controller of your personal data under the GDPR is Spletni Marketing, Matija Laznik s.p., [PLACEHOLDER: registered address], Slovenia (registration no. [PLACEHOLDER], tax no. [PLACEHOLDER]). It’s my sole proprietorship, so I’m personally responsible for your data.

What I collect and why

This site collects as little data as possible. There are no analytics, no ads, no cookies, and no profiling. I process personal data in only three cases:

• If you join the newsletter waiting list, I store your name, your email address, the language you signed up in, and the date and time you signed up. I use this only to send you the newsletter once it launches. The legal basis is your consent. I keep your details until you withdraw it, which you can do by emailing me. The list is stored on Cloudflare, which also hosts this site. Before the first issue goes out, I’ll move the list to an email service provider, and I’ll name that provider on this page before the move.
• If you email me, I receive your email address and whatever you write. I use it only to reply and, if we end up working together, to run the project. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in replying to you. Once we start discussing a project, the basis becomes the contract we’re preparing or carrying out. I use Gmail, so Google also stores these emails. I keep them only as long as the conversation or project requires.
• When you open any page, your browser sends your IP address and basic technical details (such as your browser type and the page address) to two companies: Cloudflare, which hosts the site and protects it from attacks, and Google, which serves the fonts. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in running a website that works and is secure. Cloudflare and Google are US companies, so in all three cases your data may be processed outside the EU. Both are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you can at any time:

• find out what personal data I hold about you and get a copy (in a machine-readable format, if you like),
• have that data corrected or deleted, or limit how I use it,
• withdraw your consent or object to how I use your data (to leave the waiting list, just email me; every newsletter issue will also have an unsubscribe link),
• file a complaint with the Information Commissioner, Slovenia’s data protection authority (Informacijski pooblaščenec, ip-rs.si), or with the data protection authority in the EU country where you live.

If anything described here changes (for example, when the newsletter launches), I’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
